Project Details

A new building with a total area of 49,000m2 was planned for the Blida Hospital in Algeria. The hospital offers about 300 beds, 6 operating rooms, an intensive care unit, a surgical ward, and departments for pediatrics, radiology, gynecology, endoscopy, pathology, as well as laboratories, a large scale kitchen and food delivery, a cafeteria and a management center.

The wings of the property house ventilation and air-conditioning appliances. A central heat recovery unit feeds downstream ventilation and air-conditioning appliances. Technical installations had to meet requirements of the surrounding arid climate and should not be prone to permanent service and maintenance, thereby proving high standards of reliability. Every room is connected to the ventilation system or it is cooled and heated by appliances using circulating air.

All documents and records were written in French. The Klett Ingenieur GmbH planned ventilation and air-conditioning units, measurement and control systems, building management systems, and letter shoots.
